Somerford Park Farm – Cheshire’s most highly regarded equestrian facility has teamed up with Bolesworth International to create an exciting new award the ‘Cheshire Crown’.

cheshire crown instagram 3All roads lead to Cheshire – the award was created to appeal to a wider audience of dressage competitors with the aim of encouraging top riders to make the journey to Cheshire and to compete at both events.

Combining two of Cheshire’s most outstanding dressage shows – Somerford Park Premier League Dressage and Bolesworth CDI, the ‘Cheshire Crown’ will be awarded to owners of the horse with the highest combined percentage for the Grand Prix at the two shows, and will be presented at Bolesworth CDI.

The ‘Cheshire Crown’ has a value of over £500 and the winning owners will receive two VIP tickets for Olympia 2017 for the GP Freestyle on December 13th, the prize includes their accommodation at one of Kensington’s fabulous Townhouse Hotels – Number Sixteen, in South Kensington, courtesy of the Firmdale Group of Hotels.

BD Chairman and owner for Maria Eilberg, Penny Pollard commented, ‘I have visited both venues as an owner, and always enjoy the welcome in Cheshire as well as great facilities for horse and rider.  It is a terrific idea to give a prize for the owners as they play such an important role within the sport.’

The first of the dressage spectaculars kicks off at Somerford Park Premier League Dressage on bank holiday weekend at the end of May 27th – 29th, followed just two weeks later at Bolesworth International (14th – 18th June) at their recently launched CDI.

‘We’re very excited to introduce the ‘Cheshire Crown’, and by providing fabulous facilities including our Andrews Bowen arena surfaces we are encouraging Britain’s dressage elite to compete at Somerford Park and offering dressage fans a superb opportunity to watch Britain’s top athletes in action’, said Somerford Park’s Dressage Organiser Millie King.

Dressage fans can enjoy watching top class sport in stunning surroundings at Someford Park Premier League Dressage – ticket prices are inexpensive at £5 per adult and children under 12 or £10 per car with proceeds donated to North West Air Ambulance.
